The FB fact checkers don't seem too happy with our conservative views, so I presume we'll be disabled soon. I have started a MeWe account, and I will be starting a MeWe discussion group, which our FB members may congregate to. I have also asked for suggestions as to what we name the new group, and I have said that our current name stems from our roots, which is the CompuServe Military Forum, but I am now open to other suggestions.
What do you few survivors here think?

The fact-checkers are FB staff who check what we post, and, if they feel it's incorrect, they will put a stamp over that post, saying it was reviewed by fact-checkers and found to be false. And I have received some notifications, along with the standard warning that, if the members continue to violate community standards, the group will be disabled.

And I have received some notifications, along with the standard warning that, if the members continue to violate community standards, the group will be disabled. IMO, the correct way to do it is let the replies from members show the facts and fact-checkers. And let the staff be members, but they shouldn't be deciding what is true and false, IMO, in any way other than being a member. I had the same issue in the backpacking forum's political section. If the staff doesn't agree with something posted, it gets deleted. I quit that forum over the issue. I will no longer log in there at all. Some of the "fact-checkers" are biased by the liberal left. That's fine, but the fact checkers are not always the final answer. BTW, if you're looking for a good forum that won't do that BS (but it is full of mostly lefties as well as ran by lefties) try here.BTW, it also came from CompuShaft (as Jerry used to call it). -Don-

I know about forumania, but it's not our military forum, and, don't forget, they shafted us.
Getting back to the topic, the FB fact checkers are the final word, and there is no right of appeal.

So what should we name the MeWe discussion group?

I'm thinking of sticking to the same name, which would be "The New Military Group" or "The New Military Forum". That would be in line with our other forum and be similar to this one.

I am missing something here. Where is this other forum going to be at, why do we need it and what's wrong with this forum? Just get your FB buddies over here to this forum. -Don- Reno, NV

This forum will remain, and, for now, so will the FB group. But I am thinking of starting a MeWe group, if and when FB decides to disable our group there, so those members will have a place to go - there are almost 200 members, and most of them aren't too enthusiastic about a traditional online forum like this one.

I am not familiar with MeWe. I first heard that term from you. I just did a search and found this. I never knew it existed. Should I join it? -Don- Reno, NV

Don,
That is the network I was referring to, yes. Feel free to join it, but it's similar to FB, except it's more tolerant and ha a reputation of attracting conservatives.

Don,
I think I'll call the MeWe group "(t)he New Military Forum" after this one. Feel free to join or not join, because I'll be posting the same stuff here, as I always have.
