I just watched the KRuddmobile leave Government House Canberra after he handed in his government keys to go into caretaker mode.
And I now look forward to his retirement along with his very corrupt comrades and their union movement masters and mistresses.

They're tied in the polls.

The opposition poll trend has them comfortably in front however the published polls here have a poor track record, they told us Labor would regain state governments and the actual result was a landslide defeat.

The opposition poll trend has them comfortably in front however the published polls here have a poor track record, they told us Labor would regain state governments and the actual result was a landslide defeat. The same thing happened in British Columbia in our election earlier this year - the polls said the governing Liberals (who are pro-free-market) would lose, but they won a bigger majority. The reason, apparently, was because the voters were afraid of letting the socialists back in.

I don't believe them!
The polls that is, or the socialist pollies, or the socialist media.
I am scared stiff of the gullible bogans of Australia, all sucking furiously on the public teat, that is rapidly running dry. Like in the USA, there are enough of them to tip any election in THEIR favour by the power of their votes.
The media will be the most powerful influence, not the political ads, not the sound grabs on the radio or the photo ops in the malls. They can bend public opinion in any way they wish, and they WILL!
The opposition leader, Tony Abbott appears wishy washy on TV, and that is fatal. It is ALL about what a bloke looks and sounds like on TV. Another 3 years of socialism WILL doom this country, it will take a decade at least to clean up the mess.

The longer your country waits, SJ, the more painful the adjustment.

Don't know what it takes in OZ maybe a Concord Bridge or Bunker ( Breeds ) hill or a march on Sydney or where ever the capital is , the US doesn't seem to be able to clean its own mess up but there is iron in our Constitution as liberals find out when they butt heads with it .

If a tiny country like Ireland can gather arms against the Empire and create a Republic surely OZ could do the same against its own government .

Advice please: Our public broadcaster ABC has been promoting a Canadian firm as AEC which here means Australian Electoral Commission asking viewers to go to a website and participate in a series of questions about the election and the parties.
The voice says that the site will not tell you who to vote for but will help you to assess the situation and decided which party would be best for your needs.
We know that 2 Obama spin doctors are here now and that PM KRudd intends to copy the presidential campaign style of Obama, including dirty tricks.
Have you guys heard about this online tactic?
Obviously aimed at the under 30s

It appears that the government initial poll improvement when KRudd replaced Gillard is over and that now the slide is downwards.
In a printed version of The Australian newspaper today I read an article by a professor of economics who wrote that Australia is heading into a deep recession (no surprise to me as I have been expecting it for months) which he calls the recession Australia did not have to have.
He of course blames the government and them squandering so much mining boom monies, wasting money, borrowing to spend despite record high revenue streams, mismanagement, incompetence etc

The former Liberal National Party Coalition government treasurer Peter Costello took a swipe at PM KRudd's claim to have saved the nation from the financial crisis, Costello points out that the excellent state of the books, finances and economy when Labor took over in 2007 did the saving.
He also points out that the international credit rating agencies have no credibility since they gave AAA rating to most of the failed banks and nations meaning that our AAA rating is meaningless. He also pointed out that in 1996 Labor handed the Coalition a downgraded twice from AAA to AA rating which took some time to recover but when Labor took over in 2007 we had AAA for some years.

Voter joke of today an Australian Chinese man aged 88 told a journalist he would vote for KRudd because he was a hard worker, and Abbott's walk annoyed him ....
Abbott lifetime sportsman, rugby union, boxing, long distance bicycle rider, triathlete, surf lifesaver and still doing it, and also a volunteer bushfire brigade captain.

We learnt today that people smuggler vessel Indonesian crews are being sent home by air free of charge at taxpayer's expense.
They never come back, of course they don't.

It sticks in my throat to say this, but I am beginning to feel like a US Republican voter in October 2012.
The feeling of impending doom as the media and the bogans, who are conjoined twins, march towards victory in the election.
Our favourite is hobbling down the straight with a broken leg, and whimpering on the TV, knowing everyone thinks he is a wishy washy dill, which he is not. The TV editors with their scissors, and the newspaper editors with their black pens, are killing the Conservatives..
SIGH!
SOB!
