China already extended their territorial waters 2300 miles out into the Pacific so these Islands already belong to them along with Japan and Catalina Island .

At most he'd complain to the UN and issue a strongly worded objection.... Right after he returned from his latest fund raiser...

I wonder if our peace loving Chinese brothers know how they are trashing their reputation with all and sundry within 1000s of kilometres of her shores. Creating fear and even a military expansion of her nervous neighbours throughout Asia.
Creating distrust and suspicion, for what may be little economic or military gain. Surely she knows that if push comes to shove, she will have 4 or more USN nuclear carrier groups on her doorstep, no matter what her claims are.
Why risk a confrontation that will only confirm and create even MORE distrust and suspicion?

PS,
China knows damned well she cannot take Taiwan or Japan or the Phillipines, and if she tried she would make a military fool of herself. That leaves only ONE military card to play.
Nuclear!

I think Taiwan would side with China on this, which would put the Americans in an interesting position.
