Are changing our tune here somewhat, Don? No, it's just that the SCOTUS and I agree on what the constitution means, regardless of what it seems to say.

I understand. It means only what you want it to mean. Don't bother reading it. And with those three women on the SCOTUS one is likely to get a wide range of interpretations.

Why does everyone ignore the phrase "the free exercise thereof"?

Don't bother to read it, you're right, if you're not going to bother to understand it. Understand it, that's much more important than only reading it.
Ever thought about why you don't agree with the majority of those 9 who have the job to interpret it?-Don-

Why does everyone ignore the phrase "the free exercise thereof"? Exercise anything you want, anywhere you wish, as long as it breaks no rules and is not supported buy the government in any way, such as being on government owned property.

But it seems to be the atheists are the ones making all the rules these days regarding religion.

But it seems to be the atheists are the ones making all the rules these days regarding religion. [/color] Then you should be happy. That's a lot better than a having a religion that you do not agree with making the rules. Perhaps their first rule would be to make your religion illegal.

-Don- Government owned property...Hmmmm.... Interesting concept..... Who IS the government? How did they come into ownership? What's this "of the people, by the people, and for the people"?

"The government is us; we are the government, you and I." --Theodore RooseveltBut the problem is that there are about as many different religions as there are people. How do we treat them all fairly other than letting none of them use government property? If it were tried, IMAO, it would not be the atheists complaining, it will be the other religions.
