For those of us who are not diggers, the socialist Labor party is in power, but, with the upcoming election, they're slipping in the polls. This is in keeping with the worldwide trend of socialist retreat - in fact, recently, in my province of British Columbia, Canada, the socialist party was set to win but lost when the governing right-wing liberals won an upset. Those socialists in my province are now doing quite a bit of soul searching, but it's obvious the voters were afraid of what a left-wing power would do when it is in power. And this lesson cannot be unheeded by the Democrats in the US.

Swampy,
We have a term over here of "bogan". This is a not very bright person, usually living out its life sucking on the public teat, and bring up a tribe of kids with the same attitudes. Gainful employment is unknown to them.
They are usually gullible people, who believe any propaganda or spin tactic that makes them believe that voting for the socialists will improve their lifestyle. They are easy to fool and use their vote to make a living.
I think the USA and Canada may have an equivalent.

What has come to light after the past Presidential election is that the minorities combined make the majority , there is a problem here and the GOP needs to come up with an answer .

"the minorities combined make the majority"
Very true, and even to an outsider the US 'Bogans' got BO over the line. They always will until reality hits.

Bogans or sooners got BO in , it was close 53%-47% and unless the GOP comes up with a way to splinter the minorities this trend will continue .
