KABUL, Afghanistan – A newly recruited Afghan village policeman opened fire on his American allies on Friday, killing two U.S. service members minutes after they gave him a new weapon as a present. It was the latest in a disturbing string of attacks by Afghan security forces on the international troops training them. As much as some would like, we can't impose our values on the rest of the world and many countries don't want democracy as we know it anyway. I say let them go back to their old ways and live in the stone age.

Well, we went in to destroy the AQ, which we have done. But the Dubya Doctrine seems to imply a desire to make the world safe for democracy, as witnessed the invasion of Iraq. But I don't know if we can do that in Afghanistan, so maybe we should leave.
