Hello to all. Yes Stanley, you could start a political section. My firist thoughts were the problem in the Military forum could have been lack of membership. But that does not hold as it seems their intent was to continue the forum. Whatever, it seems they wanted to play secrets and one-upmanship. J.Roth I think the problem was Jerry (and nyself) was way too loose with what some could post, but I prefer Jerry's way. All was okay until some FNG or lurker filed a complaint. I got chewed out by Merzi too. She couldn't believe I would let a message stand where Tet used the term "gay slime ball" or whatever. I tried to explain to her that the Military Forum members, such as myself, know not to take Tet as being serious. But the rules are the rules and it was a violation of Compuserve's Terms of Service. And Jerry as well as myself is not supposed to allow such messages, but neither of us cared, as we knew nothing serious was meant from it. I think that's the best I can explain what happened there. There were several other messages that we both allowed to stay that violated CompuServe's TOS. But none were real serious, IMO, all were in just good old fun. Where I would draw the line would be at direct & serious name calling, which I never noticed any of such in the Military Forum. -Don-

How old is Merzi. 18?
Doing a part time (Moscow) University course in 'People Control for The Masses'?
Can I be sent to the Gulag for saying that?

SJ Well, she doesn't make the rules either, but she has to enforce them. I never met her, but I've known her on line for many years (such as when she was a sysop of the crime forum. And I was too for a while, but me under her as she was top sysop). She must be quite old because we were BOTH on line with CompuShaft since the 300 baud ascii days when they charged by the hour. We cannot blame Merzi for doing her job correctly, even if we don't agree. All would have been fine, IMO, if it were not for some formal complaints by either a FNG or lurker. BTW, I was in the Military Forum on Compuserve since Jim Horn was sysop. That was a long time ago! -Don-
