A follow up on the Empires murder of French Sailors at Mer-el-kebir . in 1942 the Vichy Government ordered the scuttling of the Main French Fleet at Toulon to keep the Germans getting control of the fleet just as they told the Empire they would do at Mer-el-kebir a year earlier , was Churchill crazy , the French wanted him charged with war crimes , why didn't other members of the Empire put a lid on this guy , he went from PM to dictator , his conduct and contact with the Russian's as the war was coming to and end on how they should divide up the Balkans , this was brought to the attention of the Americans who put an Axe to it .

I’d say Churchill was justified. When Patton tried to land at Casablanca the French fired at us with one of their battleships. Later on they fired at us from the Kasbah.
As Patton once said, he would rather face two German divisions in front of him than one French division behind him. This was about the time that the French took Paris without permission.

The French at Algiers were fighting for France ( vichy ) , Patton was a wonder in his own mind , operation Torch was the begining of George's march to imortality , Ike and Bradley could not stand the man , Marshall put up with him but gave Ike the ok to dump him when he slapped the soldier in Scicly , Churchill interviend he needed Patton in case he was the last American standing .
