Plenty of high tech, and, even a working STOL/VTOL. This one was constructed to be invincible. I have written that, if a technology system has N parts, then those parts have (O N^2) interactions, side effects, and, more. "The most efficient, the fastest, the most economical, the most elegant, the most cost effective parts of a computer system are those which are not there." Id est, it is not good to build systems with a great number of parts. (I recall, Tracy Kidder: The Soul of a New Machine, about the Data General 16-bit minicomputers.)
