As I have explained before, I don't mind taxes, but I mind how the money is spent, especially when outside of the USA.
IMAO, the biggest waste of money with how our military is used. Think of the billions of dollars lost in Vietnam for nothing. And Iraq Two, just to force democracy on a country where the majority (wanna have a vote there to prove it? ;D) hates the idea.
I strongly support wars that make some sense, such as Iraq One, to help our friends in Kuwait. Or WW2. Or even stopping the terrorist training and such in Afghanistan / Pakistan (and espcally with blowing the head off OBL).
And I ain't liberal or conservative. I just go for what makes sense for this so-called free country.
Do my views on gun control seem liberal?
Do my views on illegal immigration seem liberal (which is to match the laws of the country they came from)?
I have taken politcal tests on the internet, they all show me around the middle, which I agree with. A bit left, as would be expected, if they ask too many questions about gays or same-sex marriage. I believe in equality, which seems to be my "left" side.
Super-conservatives never care about anybody but themselves and the god of their superstitious beliefs (like that Sanatorium idiot) and turning this country into a Christan theocracy.
I am proud not not be considered a super-conservative. I am also proud to not be considered a super liberal as I have heard countless stupid ideas on that extreme as well.
-Don- SSF, CA Sorry, Don. I misunderstood. I thought you were complaining about paying more taxes because you couldn't marry Tom. I didn't realize that you were happy paying more taxes because gay marriage was not recognized by the Federal Government. Understand that you are unhappy about how your taxes are being spent, but I also mistook your comments to mean that you objected to paying more taxes than legally married folks. Good to hear that you do not object to the amount of taxes you pay - how patriotic!

Good to hear that you do not object to the amount of taxes you pay - how patriotic! You still misunderstand. I don't want to pay less or more taxes than a heterosexual couple in the EXACT same situation as Tom & me. But if they double the taxes for everybody, I won't complain as long as the money is well used.
The Republicans especially like to waste money. So far, they have spent millions of tax payer's dollars to fight to keep the DOMA. See here.
"House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and other GOP leaders hired attorneys at the law firm Bancroft LLC to represent the House in court cases involving the federal ban on gay marriage -- all with taxpayer dollars."

With his Imperial Majesty in the White House deciding which of the laws previously passed and signed he wants to honor, does Boehner have any other option?

With his Imperial Majesty in the White House deciding which of the laws previously passed and signed he wants to honor, does Boehner have any other option? Yes, he could save a few million dollars just as Obama did. But we cannot expect such from a conservative republican.
If neither defend the nonsense on either side, the lower court decision has to stand. There's nothing in it to defend other than a waste of money.
I bet even his own party would give Boehner a lot of support by not wasting all that money on something so obviously unconstitutional that it can only lose in court.

-Don- SF, CA Sounds like you are totally happy with an "emporer" in the White House as long as he supports your agenda. Wonder what law he will next decide to 'not enforce'

A. Back off and let those men who want to marry men, to marry men.
B. Allow those women who want to marry women, to marry women.
C. Allow those folks who want to abort their babies,to abort their babies.
D. In three generations, there will be no Democrats left.

Wonder what law he will next decide to 'not enforce' That's an easy question to answer. The next stupid, obviously unconstitutional law that will do nothing other than waste a lot of tax payer's money.

Don, This may come as a shock, but neither you nor the president have the power to declare a law unconstitutional...... And won't even comment on who is wasting tax payer money....

Don, This may come as a shock, but neither you nor the president have the power to declare a law unconstitutional...... We don't need to declare anything. The Constitution declares some things so clearly that it speaks for itself. There's nothing to even interpret on some issues. And won't even comment on who is wasting tax payer money.... In this case, the republicans, you don't need to comment. It's very clear.
