N.Korea stayed in the Korean Conflict for three years because China kept them in the conflict , so with N.Korea rattling sabers again would China back them up to the extent they did in the '50s , not likely , there would be nothing in it for China , so WHAT does N.Korea want ? , Dennis Rodman to come back ? .

Yes, but probably the 'West' is going to have to accept the first blow, so that it is obvious that we are not the aggressor, and China/Russia cannot claim it as such.
And you can bet that the UN will NOT be on our side, and China/Russia will not be in the middle of a boycott like last time.
The USA can reduce NK to military impotence inside a week with a few 100 'Tomahawks', and I will bet a zillion they are in USN subs just off the coast right now.
I am also betting that China has told NK bluntly, NO NUKES!!!!!!

What happens if China does a JFK and announces that "an attack on NK will be seen as an attack on China"?

What happens if China does a JFK and announces that "an attack on NK will be seen as an attack on China"? We call their bluff, and, if they're not bluffing, we'll do what we should have done in the 1950's.

We are the democratic coalition made of the US, Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, and so on. The continental Europeans are a little busy with their economic problems now, but the US, Britain, Canada, Australia, and NZ should be able to handle China.

I think you misunderstand the situation. The continuous escalation will not cause the USA to attack, it will cause China to invade NK. Their main problem, that is holding them back, is that they have no plan what to do with NK. There are some resources in NK which China might use, but what to do with the people? China needs no land and no people. The second point is that China's image might suffer from being an occupation force, even little Tibet is causing enough pain and many neighbors with some disputes with China are looking very intensively.

I'm fascinated with your opinion that China will attack NK. I disagree with it but don't dismiss the possibility. I never thought the wall was going to come down between East and West Germany and it took me months to marvel over the fact that the country was united again. So that proved to me that almost anything can happen. As long as it doesn't pertain to the Muslims/Arabs.

N.Korea needs a good stomping , and S.Korea are just the people to do it , I trained with the ROK Army and they are bad news , they would go through N.Korea like s--t through a goose , in fact I'd re-enlist to join them , the only thing holding S.Korea back IS will the U.S. cover China .
