I believe that China's atitude over the past few years had guaranteed 3 eventual outcomes.
The first is an arms race that China cannot win, and the second is an 'IPTO' - Indo Pacific Treaty Organistaion. That will evolve from the 'AUKUS' and 'QUAD' groups as they are now. They may even include Canada and NZ.
Yes, China can build a fleet of DDGs but she cannot build a chain of friendly and supportive bases and ports/airfields around the world. Even her base in Djibouti has the USA as a next door neighbour. The PLAN is going to have to build a fleet of repenishment ships that can help those DDGs get to West Africa. The other one proposed on the African west coast is many 1000s of Kms from home and friends. The third is an international awareness of just how real the threat from the dragon really is, especially if she tries to invade Taiwan, even though I am convinced she cannot do that.
This whole thing is evolving much like the 1930s.

I won't say it's like the 1930's, because Germany was a threat, which the allies ignored, while China is a non-threat which the allies are not ignoring.

You jest, of course!

"China is a non-threat" You jest, of course! SJ In terms of it being a military threat, no, I don't jest. They could cause trouble, but they cannot win, especially with the whole world against them.

I know that she cannot win, but in the context of being a threat to most if not all of South East Asia, she IS a threat.
IPTO would trump her ace, of that I am certain. It would even have a couple of European countries Britain and France, as members.
