I thought NK invaded on my father's 40th birthday, 25th June 1950?

Just as an aside. the first NON American unit into SK after the invasion was the Royal Australian Air Force No77 Squadron, about 4 days after the invasion.
Still with P51 'Mustangs', and soon to be equipped with British 'Gloster' Meteors. Not all that good at air to air with the MiG 15 but great at ground attack.

Do you know of the story re the MiG 15s engine? A direct copy of the Roll-Royce 'Nene', 6x GIVEN to Stalin by komrade clement attlee, recently PM of Britain after the ungrateful poms tossed out that wonderful man and military strategist, Winston Churchill. The Gloster 'Meteor' was the first operational allied jet fighter in WW2. Should have been first of all if not for a stupid Air Ministry that could not see past their noses. Wasted about 4 years of precious time, and would have trumped the Me262 without a doubt. FAR more reliable! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolls-Royce_NeneSJ
