Was New Orleans the only fight the Yanks won in 1812?
It is the only one they want to talk (or sing) about!

I can't figure out which one of you is worse. The one who throws out the bait or the one who takes it.

The Kings Army burnt down the White House , and that pissed a lot of people off , but all things being equal the Kings men found out what color the Americans liked at New Orleans .

Wasn't the Battle of New Orleans AFTER the War of 1812?

Actually the treaty of Ghent had not yet been approve by the President or Congress and wasn't agreed upon until February 1815 6 weeks after New Orleans .

Not sure why, but the fine city of Melbourne has an outer suburb named 'Pakenham'. Used to be a nearby country town, but has been consumed by the ever growing city.
It could not go back any more than to about 1850, long after the War of 1812.

Yep, Mr Wikipedia confirms that he gave his name to the town, in 1859.
