In ancient Rome lived a talented witch who was most adept at growing magnificent fruits and vegetables. While all were amazed at the variety of tasty produce she was able to grow (and many would visit her in the dark of night to buy her produce), political correctness decreed that she be shunned as a witch.
By happenstance, one year she was able to produce the most glorious strawberries - large as a softball, sweet as cane sugar and as luscious as could be imagined. This feat went beyond anything she had done in the past and, because of its unique nature, became known to the Procurator of Rome.
He summoned the palace guard and ordered them to go to the witch's home and bring him some of these fabulous berries. When they arrived at her door, the witch, fearing that she would finally be punished for practicing her magic, refused to open the gate.
The commander of the guard, seeking to fulfill his mission called out to the witch, "Madam, we come not to seize your berries but to honor them!"
