My sympathies to his family. Any idea what was the cause of death?

Brain hemorrhage of some kind. He was in a vegetative state for a day and then passed away. Funeral services were on September 1, 2012.

My sympathies to his family. Any idea what was the cause of death? My guess would have been booze. Seems he was always drunk when we spoke on the phone. And even when Tom & I met him in person in Seattle. We were wondering if he was ever not drunk. Nevertheless, RIP Jim. -Don-

He was in great pain during his last few years, being on oxygen all the time.

RIP,
I spoke to Jim a few times on the phone. We had some good chats, but we lost track after he left the Forum.

Why did you get to speak to him on the phone? He called me a few times after we met up in Seattle, and we did get to meet up in other places, then we lost touch.

Swampy,
Not sure now, far too long ago, but we exchanged phone numbers and spoke a few times, mainly about VN and firearms in US and OZ.
Unfortunately, I never met him.

Jim and I used to talk about once a week and while he was still living in Ohio. Judy and her daughter met him and his family while they were on a trip to visit Judy's mother's grave. When Jim and his family moved, we lost touch and I hadn't heard from him in years.
