I was very impressed with Julian Castro's speech to the Democratic convention last night. Pretty amazing personal story what with he being the mayor of San Antonio and his twin running for Congress, both raised by a single mom. Speech started slow but got cracking pretty quickly. It's obvious why he will be groomed to be a favorite in 2016. Michelle surprised me big time. She has come a long way since 2008. She gave an excellent speech which really connected with the convention attendees. The way she connected her family to how Obama plans for the future was masterful. I still don't like her, but I give her credit for coming a long way. The differences in Ann Romney's speech and Michelle's were very obvious.

In 2008, the Democratic platform read, “We need a government that stands up for the hopes, values, and interests of working people, and gives everyone willing to work hard the chance to make the most of their God-given potential.”
For 2012, the words “God-given” are removed:
I can assure that that no one has deliberately taken God out of our platform.” Wasserman Schultz said, according to the Examiner.
“So it was an accident.” Morgan said.
Wasserman Schultz refused to answer.

After being blasted by Republicans, embarrassed Democrats have reinstated language into their party platform that recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel as well as the words "God-given" that had been removed.

Sounds like the Democrat party. No principles - just do what needs to be done to get elected...

God and Jerusalem are apparently not too popular among some delegates to the Democratic National Convention. When party officials moved to restore a reference to God to the party platform along with recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, some delegates shouted “no” and later booed, Fox News reported.
The calls of “no” erupted as convention chairman Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa called for the vote to make the changes. The boos erupted when the language change was approved.
