The more new people we get who join us, the further we get away from the original intent - and name - of this forum. that's not necessarily a good thing, but it no longer reflects what this forum is all about. Until the "new" forum started, we were even then having problems keeping it going with military topics because there were so few of us who had anything to do with the military. We only have a handful or so who even served in the military and several of us are getting to the point where we really know very little about what it going on in the military of our countries.
I propose we rename this to the Old Pharts Fellowship, because that's really what we are - a fellowship.

Do we really want to lose the history associated with the Military Forum. It is true that many of the original members are no longer with us, for many and varied reasons, but the lineage is still there. There will be a time when all of us are gone and the next generation may want to start their own forum with a new name. I think that is the only way we would be able to change the name here - start a new forum with a new name and let this one die. Remember = "A rose by any other name....."

This forum will not last many years, just as Compuserve will not last long - actually, it's dying a slow death. Anyway, this has expanded to Facebook which has a very active bunch, and many are interested in the military, though they may not be military or ex-military. If and when a new form of online socializing comes about, the new generation will decide how they want to proceed. And Tet will still be a pain in the rear end.
