I gather from your first post that you live in Britain, which would give us a fresh perspective. Can you tell us more about yourself?

Hi All,
Thanks for your welcome!
Yes - I live in Suffolk, on the east coast of England (close to Rendlesham!)
Now retired, I can find time to practise my hobby of photography and local history.
I've also served time in the Territorial Army - our military reserve organisation.

Welcome aboard! Good to have some new eyes here with new perceptions. Hope you can take the kidding and poking we do with each other without any ill intent...

I grew up in Singapore, so people say I have a British accent, but you and I know better, don't we, mate?

A POM!!!!
Not being very friendly to your visitors at Old Trafford etc of recent days. Then again we deserve all we get with out bunch of hopeless amateurs.
I have ancestors from Cornwall, around Mylor Bridge. Name of ROWE, of which Cornwall has a few there. A 16 year old came out in 1868 to seek his fortune in Victoria.
All he got was ME!
Welcome!

Yep - stuffed you AGAIN tonight!!!
A lot of Cornish migrated all over the world to work in in deep holes, a skill learned in the tin mines.
(A lot also traveled to Australia for other reasons!)

At the ripe old age of 74, I am expecting a call to open the batting at the next Test.
Cannot do any worse!
....and I have 7+ ancestors that were given free (one way) 7 year holidays in the colonies. My wife has only one. Her line is much more law abiding. Her ancestor was a "Machine Breaker' in the Hampshire Swing Riots of 1830. He became a VERY rich man in Melbourne.
