McNoch may be interested in this. Most is in German, but some is in English. The writer was stationed there the first time I was (I was a senior Trick Chief then) and I was later stationed there as Site NCOIC/1SG in the late 70s. Yes good pictures , Germany at that time must have been an interesting place , I had the opportunity of going to Europe but choose the far east , when I was in Japan in 1961 there was zero evidence of war damage what about Germany ? .

When i was in Germany in the late 50s some war damage would still be seen, but when I went back in the late 60's - not so much. When I went back again in the mid- 80's none at all. In fact, much of Germany had been replaced and looked like Chicago....shame....

Well the Japs just had to put bamboo and paper together , the Germans bricks and mortar so it took them a little longer .
