Not much to burn in Texas except people on death row . Once again, you show how totally ignorant you can be.

That's twice and I'm only talking about this post. I really think you should change your avatar to the ass end of a mule. We all would certainly know who it is at any rate.

The blaze did, however, pose a threat to the lines and stations that pipe power to the city of San Francisco, so Gov. Jerry Brown, who had declared an emergency for the fire area earlier in the week, made the unusual move of doing the same for the city across the state.
San Francisco gets 85 percent of its water from the Yosemite-area Hetch Hetchy reservoir that is about 4 miles from the fire, though that had yet to be affected. But it was forced to shut down two of its three hydroelectric power stations in the area

Well, I would rather be here than in Reno. A buddy of mine in Reno (via e-mail) just told me the smoke there keeps getting worse and it is giving many people problems. Seems they are getting the smoke from five or so different fires, making it hard to see far or even breathe. Seems they will have to go quite a ways to get out of the smoke. The best place might even be closer to the fires, as we didn't notice the smoke coming back over the mountains when we were close to the Ft. Hill fire. Seems all the smoke from them all wants to go to the Reno area. I wouldn't think that HH dam would affect us much, because the way I think it works is the water goes from HH to the Pulgas Water Temple. And then, I thought the water was used from Crystal Springs Lake. But I see now that they made some major changes in year 2004. However, I was just there a few weeks ago and I could see plenty of water going through the temple. Here is my own pix of it: Here is the water coming OUT from the temple: They put this screen in it in the 70's because kids used to jump in it and go flying down the output into the lake. I was always too chicken to do something that stupid, but I never saw anybody get hurt from doing it. And here is how I got there ( the 1971 motorcycle I bought when I got out of the army and it still runs great!): -Don- SSF, CA

Back in about 1987 we had some very bad bushfires near Melbourne.
The smoke and airborne debris ended up in NEW ZEALAND.
