I don't think we know you - can you tell us something about yourself? I hope you'll become a regular.

I am a retired naval officer who practices his avocation of providing military history presentations to other retirees with similar interests. I am looking forward to exploring the forum.

Welcome, as a military history NUT (not expert), I look forward to your posts.

Welcome aboard! Other than your obvious poor choice in service (I was Army ) you will be a welcome addition to the forum. Until very recently, we were mostly a very small group of folks who used the forum as much for a social gathering place as for anything else. However, thanks to Swampy, we migrated to this new forum and have new members, new points of views, and new topics to discuss. Personally, I still enjoy the social gathering aspect but I know that several of the others really enjoy the historical aspects of the military.

Allow me to jump in here to welcome you also. I am late in doing so because I was in charge of a Fly In all weekend and up to my ears in details and putting out fires (figuratively not literally). Like Denny, I will not hold your choice of service against you. Navy guys like much too cramped spaces and too low overheads for us Army types to get comfortable in.
