>>deforestation has released CO2 << Deforestation does not release CO2. Deforestation does not extract the CO2.
>>but other than back then we don’t see large scale volcanic activity or massive fires or decomposition of dying forests, but we see the impact of the human behavior.<<
The North coast of Africa used to be heavily forested and the Carthaginians uses the forest to build a fine naval fleet. This ended when the Sahara desert took over the Northern part of Africa. Was this caused by humans?

There seems to be a cult that has built up Global Warming to the status of a religion. The Bible for this religion seems to be “ An Undeniable Truth”, written by that noted author that invented the internet.
The high priests of this religion were caught manipulating data to verify their predetermined goals. E-mail messages have been discovered that indicate data was suppressed that did not conform to the desired trend line.
Then the high priests joined in when the EPA declared CO2 to be a poisonous gas. CO2 that gives life to plant life. Plant life that feeds mammals. Without CO2 there would be no life!

As most of the wood from deforestation that was not used is decomposing or burned, this leads to an increased CO2 release.
If the humans are destroying the eco-system (like in Scotland or Iran) it makes it easier for the desert to expand due to erosion, but that is a different process.

Then lets use the term "wood burning" rather than deforestation. They are really not the same.
