The former commanding officer at Camp Edwards has resigned as adjutant general of the Massachusetts National Guard, even though federal investigators were unable to substantiate a rape allegation against him. Joseph Carter, who has been on paid leave since March, is stepping down from the $173,214 per year job running the Guard. He is also the former police chief in Oak Bluffs. More

I don't want our soldiers to be poverty level, as some are in Canada. As for paying people for the work they do, that's a different issue.
