Yeah called the Punch Bowl a national cemetery , journalist Ernie Pyle is a permanent resident among several thousand others from Guadalcanal , Tarawa , Iwo and Saipan even a few from Vietnam .

I was station at Schofield Barracks up in the mountains about 20-25 miles from Honolulu went to the punch bowl couple times .
