THE tumbleweed New Mexico town of Vaughn has only one qualified police officer after its sheriff was forced to resign: the police dog Nikka. The police chief of the small eastern New Mexico town resigned yesterday, leaving the town with just one certified member on its police force - a drug-sniffing dog named Nikka. www.news.com.au/world/us-town-of-vaughn-has-only-police-officer-a-dog/story-fndir2ev-1226482265876Just in case, "No, I don't believe that all US police officers are criminals."

Oh, yes, the small towns and isolated areas are forever needing professionals of all kinds. That's why I've been telling the younger lawyers to set up in these places - with modern travel and communications, you can spend half the month working and the other half in your real residence.
It's a bit slow with my practice, so I'm seriously thinking of setting up another subsidiary up north.
