A few people have asked me what was it like going into Combat was I afraid / scared can't say I was either one of those but can say I was fine tuned and aware of my surroundings no matter how tired I was , I never thought about getting killed that never entered my mind but if the other fellow made a judgmental error he was history .

I have wondered if I had the courage to survive combat.

No man is an island all men depend on their comrades to help them out of a bad situation combat Vietnam style was sudden and usually brief you didn't have time to do anything but react and most men might feel a ting of panic but training kicked in and all was well not much different than crossing the street alone for the first time or the first day at the bank or first court trial .
