I loved the first year and was concerned when I read that it might not be continued. However, it appears to be good for another year as the director (Aaron Sorkin I think) is very well connected. It was a very fast paced, entertaining show for me.

The words honest and newsroom are contradictory.
But, always from the outside looking in, I have to agree with much, if not all, of what he says.
I must confess, and it is on thin ice when I say this to an American Forum, that on my trips to America (1983, 2000, and 2004) I saw a society that SHOCKED me!
Over 23 states and about 30+ cities, I saw FAR more beggars and homeless people, FAR more 70 and older people working at jobs. Far more neglected suburban infrastructure and public buildings, apart from DC. So many people that looked (and sounded) unhappy and resentful and aggressive. It was only when I opened my mouth that the sour looks fell away. My random drives through American suburbia was also a shock, FAR more downmarket than upmarket, just by random observation.
I saw a help wanted sign in a fast food place, I asked how much they would be paid, he said "not much, about 6 or 7 bucks an hour". I saw so many 40+ year old Cadillacs it was amazing, beaten up old bombs. And so many abandoned cars in the street, obviously been there for many months if not years. Was on a AMTRAK train and asked the conductor what the standard gauge of American rail was (4' 8.5") His reply, "I dunno mac, all I do is ride 'em".
From what I now know, most of the good things were bought with borrowed money, and now the account has arrived.
From what I have seen, heard and read, it is just so sad!

For better or for worse, I watched that clip a second time, listened to the words very closely.
I had thought of deleting my post. I will let it stand.

I think America is the greatest country - it has the largest economy as well as an electorate open-minded enough to elect a visible minority to lead them.
If America is not Number One, who is? China??? Iran??? Russia??? I don't think so.
