A blood transfusion from young mice can help the brains and muscles of old mice. Apparently, previous experiments had shown that blood from old mice impaired the functions of young mice, but recent experiments show the opposite is true. This has greatly promising results.

Old codgers exposed to young blood improved markedly on two standard tests of learning and memory. They made fewer errors navigating a “water maze” and they learned that a specific environment was associated with an electric shock.
