Budgets cuts costs of the last 30 years start to take its toll now on US infrastructure, causing more and more incidents and increasing the costs to return to a good level of maintenance. When rescources become limited, priorities are necessary. Maybe some funds need to be shifted from "feel good projects" to those of actual importance. I know that the figures probably don't add up to equal, but it might be time to consider whether funding PBS (for example) is more important thn fixing the bridge across the Mississippi..... just sayin'

PBS is a small potato compared to the salaries of those useless bureaucrats in Washington, DC. Or their pensions, for that matter.
