As I have said, if the US managed to 'occupy' North Vietnam, she would have been well south of Saigon a month later!
Did they have a port called DUNKIRK in Sth VN?

I hope the US War College has a course on the Chinese "volunteers" advance from the Yalu River to deep inside Sth Korea in 1951/2.
NOT a good idea to invite it again!

Its a little low but it would take a million men to occupy Indo - China you have to occupy the whole otherwise the NVA would simply move their show to the next neighborhood , the French did it but they just occupied the commerce centers never the out back . A million men pay and allowances equipment , ect , ect , ect . Figure a little low .

I remember reading MANY years ago that the VN War cost over US$20 billion in 1972 dollars. Probably twice that now, or more.
The US Budget never recovered.

Come to think of it, 315 million of his mates now run their lives with a plastic card.
A bottomless pit of money to be spent at will.
Manyana!
