at 70 I'm fast becoming one of older surviving vets , but I suppose the key word is surviving , I was in Vietnam 9 months never a dull moment , from the Delta to the hour glass covered it all even had time to stop in a 'ho house from time to time .

The hour glass was a battle that lasted several days prior to tet 1/01/68-1/09/68 near the Cambodian border , the Americans decided it was a good place for a firebase the enemy disagreed as it was on one of their main infiltration routes into the Saigon area, the roads made a junction there in the form of an X put a top and bottom on it you had an hour glass .

I will be turning 81 in three months. I was in Vietnam for 24 months on two different deployments. The first was when we were building up and every day was a busy day, the second was when we were drawing down and the most exciting part of each day was the cross word puzzle in the Stars and Stripes......

I am a young kid at 64, but will be 65 before this month is history. I spent one year and six days in Vietnam. I would have gotten out a few days sooner if the choppers to pick me up were not getting shot at while trying to land. -Don- Reno, NV

You gave 'em and extra measure that and 5 dollars will get you a coffee at Starbucks , me when I went to Vietnam I had nine months left on my enlistment , discharge , even then I had to go to battalion to remind that fat ass Sgt. Major that I had a week left and where the hell were my orders he wanted to know why my pockets weren't buttoned and my sleeves weren't rolled up above my elbow I told him if I'm still here 8 days from now I'd show him why .
