A group of OpSec guys, reportedly from both parties, have released a 22 minute video critical of the intelligence leaks allegedly coming from the White House in an attempt to improve Obama's image. I can remember a time when Military folks were strongly encouraged to be "non-political", and participating in political events, in uniform, was strictly verboten. I guess these guys are all retired, and out of reach of the UCMJ, but what do you all think about the propriety of the military in any form dising the prez?

They can criticize those leaks, which are improper; but I was told by some Canadian officers that soldiers cannot criticize the government on policy issues.

They are out of the military and now have the same free speech rights as the rest of us. We can all be critical of Obama. They only difference between us and these OpSec Guys is the length of time we have been out of the military.

I see no impropriety here; understandably, while on military duty, you are 'US Property', and you WILL abide by the UCMJ for the duration of your service; the folks in question here are no longer actively connected to the military. These people have the same rights and privileges that any American citizen has, accorded under the Constitution.
