May I recommend the documentation Restrepo to you. Tim Hetherington and Sebastian Junger filmed a number of weeks spread over 15 months at one of the most dangerous location in Afghanistan, the Korengal-Valley. It is a very close perspective in which the documentation follows the life and fight of the soldiers there, the 2nd Battle Company of the 503rd IR 173rd Airborne Brigade COmbat Team. It is neither an anti-war nor a pro-war documentation, it tries to show the reality.

Only a short 13 minutes clip with some combat szenes on youTube. www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8YudXNtmoAYou can rent it from Amazon for 3 US$ or buy it for 10 US$. As those guys risked their lifes to make the documentation I think they should get their money too. In fact Tim Hetherington died while filming the advange of the Lybian rebels some years ago.

It's been on TV here for at least a year and is a very real portrayal of what one unit went through on their deployment.
