I don't know about that - in a few years, the recovery would have taken a firm hold, though it will be a new normal of sub-par growth.

In a few years the USA will see the Euro-crisis³. Forget growth for the next 10-20 years if the international institutional investors leave the USA, what they already started. But Canada might benefit from that, its banking system is much better regulated and stronger.

The greenback is strong because currently on political demand nobody is speculating much in the big markets. Asia and Europe will need their money back to rebuild their own socities, so they will look more into their own markets.
