but Americans are thinking of fleeing to Canada after Obama's victory. I hope they all do! That will make for a much better USA! Especially in future USA elections. But unfortunately, I have no doubt it's all just talk. I doubt if any will really try to move to Canada over it.Better weather, less taxes, lower prices, higher income (especially more divorces), but you have now been saying it for so long, perhaps I should include you in the "just talk" group. -Don- SSF, CA

Everyone says the same thing about me, Don, but the recession has put a crimp in my plans. I'm also thinking of moving to California as opposed to NY, but you know what California is going through now, so I would be a fool to give up my practice.
In fact, when I went for my character interview, the day before my convocation in NY, I was advised to stay in Vancouver, given the surplus of lawyers in the Empire State.

What do you think is happening here in CA? There might be a lot of lawyers here, but they all stay very busy, AFAIK. I know many work very long hours. That's not because they are short of work. BTW, I have heard it's illegal to have a private doctor in Canada, regardless of how rich you are. That is a lot more extreme than even England. So is it true? BTW, I think it's rather ironic that the Romney supporters want to go to socialist Canada and pay higher taxes and to where gay marriage is legal everywhere, & etc. But the more conservative republicans are famous for being hypocrites anyway, so I am not too surprised. BTW, were you surprised about the USA election results? I was fairly sure Obama would win, but not by the margin he did. But if you expected Romney to win, you have been spending too much time in this forum. -Don- SSF, CA

It was a close election, so anyone could reasonably have expected Romney to win. But I predicted Obama, because two polls showed him marginally ahead.
That said, I've been biding my time over the last few years, to see where I want to end up. As of this writing, I am thinking of writing the CA bar and moving to LA or SF, but that can change. I have certain matters to deal with, namely, get some cash flow in my law firm, and then we'll see. By then, the recovery will have gained momentum, so I can be more confident about my prospects.

I wouldn't call it anything near close in E-votes (332 vs 206), the only vote that counts. You didn't answer my question about having private doctors in Canada. -Don-
