Maybe Nevada would be better for a Reagan Canadian than California. It's just that NV has no state income tax. So they have to tax the crap out of everything else to make up for the difference. Especially since the Nevada casinos don't provide the type of tax revenue that they used to. Many casinos went out of business here in Reno thanks to the countless Indian casinos that opened up in CA. I am not sure how Las Vegas casinos are doing compared to before--but I assume better than here in Reno. -Don- Reno, NV

The SP-1 was a pretty good buy they run about $1000 here at gun shows no tax or back ground . There are people out here trying to get people to sign a petition "to require background checks". IOW, some people here are trying to ruin the gun shows just as they have in California, years ago. If they start the background checks at the gun shows, the guns will have to transfer at an authorized dealer who will do the background check AND collect sales tax (yes, even for a private sale here in NV). I do wonder if these people came here from CA and want to change everything and make NV into another CA. While Tom & I are from CA too, we came to NV because we like the way things are here. We're not out to change anything here--except for the weather in some Decembers. BTW, here in NV, they even charge sales tax on the background check. Like I said, they tax everything to make up for not having state income tax. But I won't cry about this, as I come out way ahead from ~$500.00 I paid to CA in state tax every month. No doubt I could get better deals at gun shows. But it seems the Colt AR15's are somewhat uncommon out here. I was glad to see this Colt SP2 for sale. I know other companies made/make the AR-15 (in fact, I own a new Smith and Wesson M&P 15)which seem more common, but I like to stick with Colt. -Don- Reno, NV

The SP-1 was a pretty good buy they run about $1000 here at gun shows no tax or back ground . I forgot to mention that I will be taking my NV CCW class on Dec 6. And after I get my CCW license, I will no longer have to pay for background checks here in NV-- no matter where I buy. They also offer the Utah CCW class out here. An additional four hour class--no gun range. That doubles the states I can carry a concealed weapon in. The CCW permit looks much like a driver's license, but has more info. It includes a finger print. My CCW class will be given by Gary Shank.-Don- Reno, NV

A year ago people were paying up to $2000 for a good AR , today AR's are running between $500-600 if you can find a buyer . Yes, Obama and his staff were great firearms salespeople back then. Perhaps enough to even improve the economy a slight bit. Now that the threat of banning these scary looking guns nationwide is over, the price drops. I will be well stocked up for the next ban. Those scary looking rifles that were registered before the CA ban are still very expensive. But I wish I could find those AR15's under $600.00. I have not seen any priced that low in the Reno area, regardless of condition. -Don- SSF, CA

Yeah , we've got them here for $ 499 new in the box just the basic weapon no frills . Are they Colt? Seems too cheap. Next think I want to add to my collection (in Nevada, of course) is an AR15 pistol. What do they run for out there? -Don- SSF, CA

No not colt ATF American Tactical Firearms . AR-Pistol and or AK Pistol $650 -900 . That explains it. But I kinda like to stick with Colt as much as possible, even though they cost more and the quality is about the same as the others. I am much more of a collector than a user of these fire arms. However, I do have one new AR-15 that is made by Smith & Wesson. Still is cheaper than Colt. -Don- SSF, CA
