So glad you're happy, Don. I am also glad that I was never REQUIRED to join a union to get work.

So glad you're happy, Don. I am also glad that I was never REQUIRED to join a union to get work. I've had three jobs in my lifetime. Two were union, one was not. The worse job I had was the non-union one. In fact, I quit within two years to get a much better job. BTW, I have only applied for three jobs in my lifetime. I got all three jobs. Not bad for a high school dropout, is it? And I now earn around three times the average salary for the USA. And only "work" three nights per week, if we can call my sinecure as "work". I don't miss the two grand the union takes out of my paychecks each year. The only reason I don't retire is because I enjoy things as they are. I am not looking for any changes. Otherwise, I am well ready for retirement. But I don't even know what to do with the 500 hours of vacation I have saved up. We've already been everywhere in our RV. We're thinking about planning a vacation to . . . Vietnam! So if you expect somebody to cry about belonging to a union, you picked the wrong guy. I enjoy my job as is and want no changes at all. Not with the union or anything else. I now have 33 years in on this job, as an Emergency Radio Systems Technician. And I love working nights. No alarm clocks, no rushing, etc. Tom has been retired for years and he's bored with it. He would now like to get a night job too. -Don- SSF, CA

>>He would now like to get a night job too.<< A union job of course. He doesn't care. He can quit if he doesn't like the job after having it. It's nice to not have to rely on a job. -Don-
