This is part of standard declassification over time, and the official position is that there are no evidence to indicate something strange is going on. But over 700 sightings remain unexplained, so I'm not convinced the government is telling the whole truth.

Swampy I agree, three reasons working backwards are 1) I with friends sighted two flights of rapidly moving 4 red dots in formation of one two one heading north across Queensland Australia skies, and about an hour later another identical formation heading north. 2) Sixty Minutes Mexico produced a series of television presentations and a video covering UFO sighted above Mexico City on a national holiday images captured by hundreds of people who, when the program asked, sent in copies from multiple angles around the City. Part of research involved a NASA engineer who after watching video images said the UFOs were using "field propulsion" and that NASA has been working on that system for years. 3) A business colleague and former Army Intelligence senior officer once told me that while he was flying aboard an RAAF C-130 Hercules crossing the west coast he and of course the flight deck crew sighted a giant metalic or aluminium cigar above and ahead of the C-130, hovering. No windows, no wings. Larger than a Boeing 747. He said that ground control radar operators confirmed that it was there. That is all I can report, but I remain interested and without attempting to guess what these sightings were and where they came from they were real.

There are unexplained sightings, and they cannot be considered natural phenomena, but I'm also not convinced they're extraterrestrials, because, if they can cross the stars, they can use stealth technology to avoid our radar. Not only that, we are now beginning to understand the nature of invisibility, and we have experimental materials that can bend the light, so the object cannot be seen - if we can do that, an advanced species can surely do much better.
My other problem is to wonder why they would go around buzzing the natives, because, if they were observing us, they would want to be undetected.
That said, there are still the evidence that cannot go away. So, in the end, I think there is an intelligence out there, but perhaps it's not an extraterrestrial one. As the biologist, JSB Haldane, said, the universe is not only stranger than we imagine, it's stranger than we can imagine.

It was written by psychic Edgar Cayce (US citizen) that if human beings were told what life is really all about they would go mad.

To my knowledge, the UFOs are a myth. They exist in the same sense as unicorns exist -- they exist in the human psyche, but not in the physical reality.

Maybe you are right Dry, but among many intriguing reports WW2 pilots from both sides sighted UFOs which the allies named Foo Fighters. During the 1990s 60 Minutes Mexico ran reports with video images of several UFO hovering above Mexico City during a military parade national day, hundreds of videos were sent in by the public for analysis. Same UFOs from many different angles and locations. A former Canadian Air Force pilot who used to fly Argosy surveillance aircraft monitor USSR shipping said that UFO sighting were not unusual and were of course reported by air crew verbally and in written reports.
There are many examples, what they are and where they might be from I do not know.
