Our peace loving muslim brothers would not have what it takes to accurately aim a Katuska? rocket at the right city. SJ They're not the best fighters - that's why they pick on little girls who want to read.

swampy,
Israel's unofficial motto is NEVER AGAIN, and they will NOT allow themselves to be forced to walk backwards into the Mediterranean Sea.
They will take their enemies into hell with them. Public opinion will mean NOTHING.

I agree 100% with SJ, and the government in Israel has shown repeatedly that they don't care much about public opinion, especially not if it is just a FB public opinion. In fact no government in this world will when it comes to critical decisions. And I would be disappointed if they would do so, they have to do the right/necessary not the popular. Even in a democracy you vote only every 4 years, and that is for a good reason.

But I'm a North American, and public opinion counts in the fight for continued support for Israel - remember what happened when public support for the VN war disappeared.

Are you saying that governments will defend themselves to the death rather than give up? I certainly disagree with that and one look at history will show how many countries have disappeared because of defending themselves. The easiest way out is to surrender, rebuild, make alliances, and try to become strong again. At least that way, you or your descendants may have a chance for a life.

Denny,
I am 100% certain that Israel is totally determined to survive in whatever borders she can defend. That includes the ALL of Jerusalem and West Bank. I doubt she cares about Gaza, just so long as it stops shooting at Israel. Otherwise she will bomb it into rubble.
There is no part way with Israel and islam. Islam wants EVERY square yard of Israel and will settle for nothing less, and Israel will never give up a square yard!
(Do a 'Google' on PLO Logo)
There is NO possibility of a "2 state solution" for either side, if it came to pass it would only be another step for islam in its quest for a "1 state solution".
...and Israel must win EVERY battle, but islam only has to win one! They will not live to enjoy that victory.

PS,
according to the koran, ALL land conquered by islam remains islamic FOREVER! Thus Spain is still claimed by islam as is 'palestine', even though it was Jewish and a half dozen other 'owners', over the past 2500 years.
Islam has as much claim to ALL of Palestine as the Native Americans and the Angkl0-Saxons have to the USA and England. Or to Australia!

On that note, SJ, protestors in Vancouver, BC, are, well, protesting against Israeli actions in the Gaza. They conveniently don't mention Hamas rockets fired on Israel and, in particular, Jerusalem, a holy city for Islam, Judaism, and Christianity.

SJ,
I suspect you would agree with my saying that were it not not the US, Israel would've long ago "taken care" of the Arab problem. It's only because our financial and military backing that allows us some cache with Israel and has thus far stopped them from doing what I wish would be done.

D>>I suspect you would agree with my saying that were it not not the US, Israel would've long ago "taken care" of the Arab problem<<
For how many years after the 1967 war did we pay Egypt to play nice guy. And it worked pretty well as long as we had Mubarak in power. We should have supported Murbarak rather than take a chance on “Arab Spring” and its promise of democracy.
The devil you know is often better than the devil you don’t know. The same situation with Gadaffi.

Denny,
I am also certain that Israel has never relied 100% of US assurances of support, especially all the way to a nuke on NYC. No reasonable person would, not even to the extent of flying tanks, ONE at a time across the Atlantic, as they did in 1973.
Her secret nuke program is proof of that. She knows there is a point when she is on her own and she can guarantee a nuke on Moscow if she really has to.
From that is the reality that she can put a nuke on ANY city within about 3000 miles, especially with her 6x (cruise missile armed) Dolphin' subs from Germany. Sitting in the Arabian Gulf gives them the trump card.
MAD and Mutual Terror applies.
As for what she may have done in years past it is hard to say, but I am also 100% certain she always does what is in her own best interests, she always will, and if that is a nuclear revenge, she will do it.

PS,
As a personal view, if I was Netanyahu i would 'leak' the official Israeli target list. On official government letterhead! And I would interline Mecca about every 5 lines.
When the uproar died down I would announce that if ANYONE lobs a nuke on Israeli soil that target list would apply in its entirety.
