The Jewish state is being hit, and it's fighting back. I don't want Israel to suffer the fate of South Vietnam - invade already!

I'm asking Israel to invade the Gaza. You can't give any leeway to those who want to destroy you!

Israel left these areas for economical reasons. It was training too many forces to operate in this area and under those conditions endless. So they surely will not re-occupy Gaza and suffer all the problems again. They will conduct a number of pin-point operations against leaders and key-military/intelligence installations and then return to the normal siege.

I agree. Under these conditions, hit and run is the best tactic.

Swampy,
Israel can do this from the air. Less Israeli casualties, easier and quicker.

The Gaza-Operation is a very good opportunity to re-channel the public attention from Iran to Palestine, as the Israeli government was unable to make any progress in the Iran-situation and now looked weak as they have over-exposed themself and don’t get the support from the Western world they were hoping for.

It just could be that Isreal is getting ready to "lead from the front". About time someone did. The west has turned into a bunch of Whooses....

Mc has a good point - we still have to worry about Iran. But, hey, Israel is fighting a two-front war with rockets falling on its cities.

Two major Israeli newspapers are reporting that rockets fired from Egypt have hit Israel. "Terrorists in the Sinai Peninsula launched rockets into Israel Friday night," reports the Jerusalem Post. "The rockets fell near an Israeli village on the southern border, causing some damage, but no injuries." The Israeli daily Haaretz reports, "Rockets fired from direction of Egypt toward Eshkol Regional Council." It appears no damage was reported in connection with the rocket fire from Egypt. Earlier today, the Egyptian prime minister visited Gaza to express solidarity with the Palestinians there

From Egypt? That's bad.

The Egyptian border is shared by the southern border of Gaza, so the difference is not all that much.
...and I VERY much doubt that our peace loving muslim brothers will risk blasting the Dome of the Rock etc with a poorly aimed, not guided, missile.
Even our departed friend saddam hussain was not game enough to try that with his 'scuds'.

Well, they're shelling Jerusalem, which shows how they really regard Islamic holy sites.

Our peace loving muslim brothers would not have what it takes to accurately aim a Katuska? rocket at the right city.
