Everyone,
We have been around for about three years, and our membership has stabilized. Jerry and I have been discussing a get-together, which would be similar to the one we had in Seattle, but this time in Carlisle. Everyone will pay his own way, but Jerry, being the chief, has kindly offered to help us find good motels and even look for a tour.
If there's enough interest, perhaps we should start throwing out available dates. And we can even invite past members of the forum.

Come on Sir John, if the Maori did it in canoes from Hawaii we could do it.

Come on Sir John, if the Maori did it in canoes from Hawaii we could do it. Exactly. Come on, diggers, what about it?

I have toyed with the idea of a RtW ticket for a long time actually, across the Atlantic to Boston, then more of the Eastern states, including a return to Gettysburg. I shall discuss the matter with my local money lender, Mr Shylock.
He is booked in for an urgent nose job and may be short of funds.

I checked out the cost of having a Maori long voyage canoe built in New Zealand but I could not get a quote for the engine room, twenty or so Maori warriors with paddles.
Maybe I can get a quote for horsepower instead if there is a way to mount an inboard or outboard motor with no stability problems arising.
Sir John could assist by agreeing to be the figurehead on the bow to balance the vessel?

Swampy, likewise but I have too much time allocated for the next year or so with some eye surgery and planned trips to Tasmania and other family and friends locations.
