If the jerks don't get the money, somebody else still has it. Besides that, both have to be jerks as it usually takes two parties for corruption. IMO, Macau has built up way too fast. The last time we were there (year 2011), they were running out of room to build more casinos, so they were even filling in the ocean to build. They way over-built. When we were there in 2007, they were still building several large casinos, as they then still had some room. When Macau was ran by the Portuguese, they only allowed one casino, which was quite crowded. At least back in 1981, the first time we were there. I think I heard then that the Portuguese were not even allowed in it (except perhaps to work). Most of their suckers came from Hong Kong back then. In 1981 Macau was really a dump! Pesky Beggars and such everywhere aggressively bugging the tourists. Since then, it over-built, mostly with American money. Now looks like a nice very modern place without any beggars and such. -Don- Reno, NV

Australian billionaire James Packer and Associates have just opened a new Casino in Macau, and he has another soon to open in Sydney Australia, and owns another in Melbourne Australia.
