He's not as sexy as Hedy Lamarr, but he was still important to the technological development of the 20th Century. He helped develop the IBM 360 Mainframe system, which was the first system that integrated all the company's computers across the various market segments. This design would still persist in mainframes today. He later founded his own company, Amdahl Corporation, which gave his former employer a run for its money. He spent his last years in Palo Alto, CA, before passing away from Alzheimer's Disease. Another person who is similarly important is Seymour Cray, who founded Cray Computers.

AJY (Well the System z are 64-bit processors, and the S/360 series are 32-bit, to be more precise about my statement.) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z/Architecture
