The Dutchess of Cambridge is pregnant.
If I was the Duke of Cambridge she would have 2 kids by now.

The constitutional problem is if she has a girl - Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and, of course, the UK will have to change their rules of succession accordingly.
See how much better it is to be a republic?

I've read that the rule has been changed so that itmakes no difference whether the first child is aboy or girl. Whatever it is, it will be the third in line for thecrown.
SJ - If you were the Duchess, there would NEVER be an heir (never mind the gender issue)! ;D

Swampy I think that Commonwealth countries accepted the rule change. In our country government women rule already, or think they do.

I really doubt that Australia will need a change to our Constitution.
Section 2 refers to the Constitution "extending to the Queens successors"
No mention of gender.
