I think Tet won his DFC from a Huey back in 1968.

He was in combat arms, so I respect that. I don't know if I have the courage to do what he did.

In no way do I wish to demean what Tet did, but you would be surprised what reaction you might have to a potentially fatal situation, either involving you or someone else. I know I'm not alone in saying that the way I reacted in similar circumstances was above and beyond that which I would normally expect of me.

It is unfortunet that tet is no longer amoung us , but he was becoming a problem so off he went , dego for once makes sense , no one knows excatly how one would react in a situation where your whole life goes before your eyes in a instant , from my own point of view you suck it in and get on with , focus , focus and focus , you have mission and just getting to the objective is not enough , you have to complete you mission what ever that may be when you arrive at your objective .

Adrenaline , the human body produces about a teaspoon of adrenaline a day , an adrenaline high is the highest high you can experance , the secret you have to learn in combat situations is how to use just a taste at a time , ration your adrenaline , I was in a assualt company in Vietnam and through radio traffic I knew long before I got to the LZ what was there what was waiting on us , this was not once a day but all day long so I learned to just take a taste just enough to keep body and nerves together , i was a good shot and generally hit what I shot at , but you could be the greatess shot in the world and lose your nerve just when you're needed the most if you didn't stay cool , you learn or you don't stay long .

"Very profound, Prime Minister, very profound".
Never having been in such a situation, I cannot know.

Not profound at all , adrenaline is natures way of helping you deal with stress , stress from anything , but if you don't feel called on it to use , then it goes away , your body has no way to store it , but I am certian that you have had conditions set upon you when you have had to use it , just remember , ration , a little at a time , to much at once could put in a jacket in a rubber room .
