Russia's soccer fans want to ban gays and blacks.

They don't want a blanket ban across the country, but they do want their club to ban gays and blacks - not because they're racist, but because it's tradition.

The club, to its credit, is distancing itself from that kind of behaviour.

Zenit’s head coach, Luciano Spalletti, said in remarks posted on the club’s website that “tolerance for me is most of all the ability to understand and accept differences.”

“Furthermore, being tolerant means that you fight against any kind of stupidity,” he added.

Well said - let's hope he means it.
