To all on the MilForum I wish a very happy Christmas and a bright 2013.
No guarantees on the 2013. ;-)

Backattcha!
I just realized that it's 7am Christmas day where John presides so he has a big start on us as far as opening the presents. Don't sample too much of your home brew, John, or your Christmas day may not be merry and bright ;D!

.....and a happy Boxing Day to all.
Over here, a day of insane 'Boxing Day Sales' and stampedes into stores. (ALL with borrowed money!!!!)
For us, a day of rest and a visit from a family friend for a ham salad lunch washed down with a home brew or a nice Chardonney.
Yesterday was my first attempt at Rotisserie cooking and I learned a few hard lessons. ONE cooking time is not as long as claimed on YouTube, and do NOT leave the spit unattended while the fat bursts into flame and turns the roast into a blackened and incinerated lump, well almost.
;-(

...and at my house electricity went out mid afternoon. I'm pretty sure it was because of high winds. We had a nice standing rib roast in the over for about an hour when it went out. The power stayed off for about another hour and finally came back. I LOVE rare beef but ours turned out well done. Still, it was VERY juicy, tasty and tender so it was worth the wait. My diet is blown to hell.

I've been on a VERY successful 11 month diet so I pampered myself. I can't believe how good it tasted! It was worth falling off the wagon.

Hmmm, maybe Stephanie can talk to us about a diet. I've started a thread on this.
