The Great War was finally over and George V could get down to the things that really mattered his Butterfly Collection as he was pinning the things to a board he thought about his Cousin Tsar Nickolas request for asylum for he and family Nicky claimed the Bolsheviks were going to kill them .. no thought George let Nicky stay in Russia and work things out after all blood is thicker than water ..

The First World War ushered in the 20th century, and the second one built on the changes wrought by the first. That century, according to many, including me, ended in 1991, when the Soviet Union disappeared.

The point of the point was the Brits are willing to throw anyone under the bus to maintain the throne even if it means having your own kinfolk murdered ..

Tet,
As I have pointed out before in these august pages, the King of England has NO real power from the throne. That belongs ENTIRELY with the Prime Minister and his Government. That is what The English Civil War was all about and why King Charles 1st was beheaded, and his son, King Charles 2nd accepted the agreement as above regarding the 'power' of the throne.
Such a decision regarding Tsar Nicholas 2nd and his family, would have been a major part of British foreign policy. It would have been seen as interference in the then Government of Russia.
Even if KGV had pleaded with Lloyd George(?) it would have been up to him as PM to grant the plea or reject it.

Behead the monarchs, turn the states into republics, then join the US, with Ronald Reagan being president of all he surveys. That's how I would do it.

Lloyd George didn't wasn't Nicky in England because Lloyd felt the Bolsheviks would follow Nicky and Lloyd didn't want that trash in the Empire but he did defer to George 5 on the matter George 5 said throw Nicky under the bus ..

How did a cranky old codger from TN have access to private conversations between KGV, and the British Prime Minister?
I blame President Trump for this!
IMPEACH!

Actually it was one of Lloyds chaps who let the cat out of the bag over a cup of tea with a journalist in other words it might be just might that Lloyd had an axe to grind using George 5 as the grinding wheel ..

How did a cranky old codger from TN have access to private conversations between KGV, and the British Prime Minister? There are only trolls in TN; old codgers live in Australia, but only so long as they're not shot by jealous husbands. Angels live in Vancouver.
