Note the charges against KG3 were 70 years out of date by 1776.
Since the 'Restoration' of the British Monarchy with Charles 2nd in the mid 1600s, the role has been nothing more or less than that of a figurehead.
"Sign this Bill your Majesty or I will have your head chopped off",
....and taxes on tea came from the British Parliament, NOT the Monarch!

If the Queen goes against the will of the people, she could suffer the same fate as Charles I before Oliver Cromwell - and the monarchy would be a done deal.
